With Koyo Koyo, we were asked to craft the identity for a contemporary Asian restaurant – a first of its kind in Chandigarh - that could beautifully shift between day to night and portray a spectrum of Asian flavors with ease.
We began by naming the space – ‘Koyo Koyo’ in Japanese for the turning of autumn leaves, an elegant metaphor for change. The minimal four-dot identity crafted for the client carries a dynamic meaning. It encapsulates: the myriad of Asian cuisines on offer, a constant shift in mood from the varying palate, and a shift from the daytime warmth to night-time vigor.
The custom illustrations for the menu and packaging – carry an elevated yet playful character, embracing soft gradients and grainy textures to add a touch of pop to the black and white color palette of the brand. This dynamic interplay reiterates the diverse fusion of flavours found on Koyo Koyo's menu.
