Tissage Carpets

Immersed in the art of hand knotted rug making for over 50 years, Tissage, meaning ‘To Weave’ has always been passionate about creating culturally evocative global masterpieces that extend traditional styles into the modern age. These pieces of woven art can be found in homes from New York to Shanghai.

We worked on a complete rebranding exercise for Tissage. The core mark is inspired by the ‘Turkish Knot’ which is an integral technique to rug making. From the knot we extracted the lettermark ‘T’ for Tissage and a hidden symbol of ‘scissors’, again an integral tool used by age old craftsmen in the process. The identity and all it’s extensions derive from a core thought, that of ‘Reimagining Heritage’. What it means to own a modern carpet today that is timeless, that can portray a narrative to the modern home owner and relate to the modern family of today.
